Mandya: A 32-year-old woman, who was critically injured after a car plunged from the Bengaluru-Mysuru national highway flyover into an underpass, succumbed to injuries while being taken to hospital on Friday.The deceased has been identified as Anjana. She was travelling to Mysuru with her husband Harish, an IT professional. The couple were travelling with their family friend Nitin.The trio was reportedly on their way to the company’s Mysuru branch.According to police, Anjana was seated in the rear seat of the car and was working on her laptop when the vehicle plunged from the flyover and fell into an underpass some 40 feet deep. She was thrown out of the vehicle, police said. Due to the impact, Anjana suffered severe head injuries and sustained heavy blood loss. Despite efforts to rush her to a hospital, she reportedly succumbed to her injuries before reaching the medical facility, police said.According to the cops, her husband was driving the car when the incident happened on the outskirts of Mandya town around 6 pm.The incident has raised concerns over the circumstances leading to the vehicle plunging from the flyover, and further details are awaited after police investigation. Mandya Central police have registered a case and taken up the investigation.
