Times News NetworkKanpur: Moderate showers in the afternoon brought relief from the sultry weather and made conditions pleasant for the residents on Wednesday. The city received around 15.2 mm of rainfall during 24 hours. However, bright sunshine around 9 am increased humidity and made the weather sultry. The maximum temperature rose to 33.8°C, which was 0.5°C higher than Tuesday. The minimum temperature, however, dipped to 24.6°C following Tuesday evening’s rainfall, nearly one degree below Tuesday’s temperature.South-westerly winds blowing at a speed of 7.1 to 9.8 kmph provided little relief from the humid conditions during the day. The city received moderate showers around 2 pm and again around 4 pm, making the weather pleasant.According to SN Sunil Pandey, weather expert at CSA University, cloud movement over the next three days may lead to localized thunderstorms accompanied by strong winds and light rain or drizzle. Humid conditions are likely to persist whenever the sun comes out.The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast mainly cloudy, hot and humid weather across the Kanpur division during the next 24 hours on Thursday. Maximum temperatures are likely to remain between 32°C and 33°C, while minimum temperatures may hover around 26°C across most parts of the division. Due to high humidity, the RealFeel temperature could reach 39°C to 40°C.In Kanpur Nagar, partly cloudy skies are expected, with a possibility of light drizzle or scattered showers in some areas during the afternoon or evening. The probability of precipitation has been put at around 25%.
