Kanpur: The police failed to get the custody remand (PCR) of Shalu, daughter-in-law of medicine trader Vineet Minocha, and two other accused in his murder case as the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) remained on leave on Wednesday. The matter was subsequently placed before the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM). Sept 19 was fixed for hearing the PCR application.Shalu, Manocha’s servant Vishal Gautam and Vishal’s friend Raj Kishore have been arrested for the murder of the trader, who was killed inside his flat on Sept 5. The police had sought 24-hour custody of the accused for further interrogation and recovery of two duplicate keys allegedly made on their order.According to the investigating officer, Minocha’s flat had four keys and the accused got two duplicate keys made. Police have also sought the remand of Minocha’s son, Subrat.The three accused were brought to the court premises by police on Wednesday. As photographers attempted to click Shalu’s photographs, she pleaded with the police to stop them and covered her face with her scarf.According to Kalyanpur police, the conspiracy to murder Minocha was allegedly hatched by Shalu, while Vishal Gautam and Raj Kishore allegedly executed the plan.
