Jaipur: Promising Rajasthan pair Rakshit Singh Mehra and Lokesh Gurjar brought laurels to the region by winning the silver medal at the All India Sub Junior (Under-13) Ranking badminton tournament which concluded in Kolkata on Wednesday.Top seeds Rakshit Singh Mehra and Lokesh Gurjar went down fighting in the final and had to settle down with the runners-up position.Second seeds Rehaan Dudekula and Sarthak Joshi, who train in Bengaluru, shocked Rakshit-Lokesh duo 16-14, 15-12 in an exciting summit clash. The Rajasthan combination fought hard in the first game but was unlucky to lose the extended game by a whisker. In the second game too, Rakshit and Lokesh were in contention but failed to play to their full potential.Earlier in the semi-finals on Tuesday, the Rakshit-Lokesh pair thumped unseeded Samarth Agarwal and Abhinav Choudhary 15-10, 15-8 to enter the final, while in the quarter-finals they overpowered Manvith MA and Vaibhav Rao Nandikolla 15-9, 15-12.Rakshit trains under TS Bisht at the Subodh Badminton Academy, Jaipur.
