Nagpur: A slice of Disneyland has come alive at Vivekanand Nagar Ganesh Utsav Mandal this Ganesh Chaturthi, with a massive Disney-inspired castle offering devotees a cinematic setting for Bappa’s darshan.The mandal’s elaborate installation features a grand castle that welcomes visitors as they enter the grounds. A green carpet leads devotees towards a fountain, beyond which the towering castle creates a striking visual spectacle. The setup has been designed to recreate the magical atmosphere associated with Disney’s iconic fairytale castles.As devotees make their way inside the structure for darshan, they are greeted by an elaborate interior featuring hanging lanterns, a blue chandelier-like installation and mirror work. Lord Ganesha’s idol is positioned within the setting, creating a contrast between the traditional religious celebration and the contemporary theme.According to a representative of Vivekanandnagar Ganesh Utsav Mandal, preparations for the installation have been underway for the past three to four months.“Everyone could see the castle taking shape, so there was a lot of anticipation building around it. As that grew, there was pressure on us to work out something good and give people a spectacle worth the wait. Hopefully, we have done it this year,” the representative said.
