Gaya district magistrate Shashank Shubhankar

Gaya: District magistrate Shashank Shubhankar has recommended departmental proceedings against former circle officers (COs) of Bodh Gaya and Manpur, citing alleged negligence in the disposal of revenue cases and failure to comply with official directions. The DM said on Tuesday, “Separate chargesheets have been prepared against former Bodh Gaya CO Chandrashekhar and Manpur CO Subodh Kumar and forwarded to the state revenue and land reforms department in Patna for disciplinary action.”“Repeated complaints were received against the COs regarding slackness in handling revenue matters. They also failed to dispose of pending cases despite repeated directions from the district authorities,” he said.A review by the DM revealed that 2,666 mutation applications were pending in the Bodh Gaya circle, of which 860 had remained unresolved for more than 120 days. Besides these, a large number of digitised jamabandi applications, e-measurement cases, applications on the Sahayog portal and public grievance cases were also pending.“In Manpur circle, the applications uploaded on the digital jamabandi portal remained pending for a long period. In addition, 63 applications seeking homestead land titles under the Bihar Mahadalit Vikas Mission were received, but none were disposed of,” he said. The DM directed all COs and the revenue officials to regularly review pending cases, ensure their time-bound disposal and strictly comply with govt instructions to improve public service delivery.
