76,000 earthen lamps to be lit at Motijheel ground to mark PM Modi’s 76th birthday

Times News NetworkKanpur: Motijheel ground will glow with 76,000 earthen lamps on Thursday evening to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 76th birthday and the completion of 25 years of his public service.Kanpur MP Ramesh Awasthi, while addressing a media conference, said that a grand event would be organised at Motijheel on September 17 to mark the occasion. The programme will include a free health camp, cultural performances and a drone show. The health camp will begin at 2 pm and continue till 6 pm. People will be provided free health check-ups and medical consultations during the camp.At 7 pm, 76,000 earthen lamps will be lit simultaneously at the Motijheel ground as a gesture of birthday greetings and tribute to the Prime Minister. A cultural programme based on Modi’s life, leadership and journey of public service will also be presented. A spectacular drone show will begin at 8 pm, during which different shapes and formations will be displayed in the sky. Selfie points have also been set up at the Motijheel complex for visitors.Awasthi said he would also light a ‘lamp of blessings’ at his residence on the occasion. The lamp will continue to burn for a month as ‘Seva Jyoti’, symbolising the spirit of service.
