‘Win-Win Collab’: PM Modi Outlines Four Pillars Of India’s BRICS Presidency, Pushes For Global South


On Day 2 of the BRICS Summit 2026, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted India’s focus on four pillars: resilience, innovation, cooperation and sustainability. He said BRICS members have reached consensus on an Integrated Early Warning System for infectious diseases and guidelines for disaster management. Modi also highlighted the BRICS Logistic Supply Chain Cooperation Framework, Startup Innovation Fund, Incubator Network and Digital Agriculture Network. He said BRICS Connect is promoting skills, employability, women’s workforce participation, social security and capacity building, while an MSME cooperation portal and Urban Mobility Hub have also been launched. On sustainability, Modi cited initiatives on smart grids, energy storage, agroecology and regenerative agriculture. He stressed that BRICS solutions should benefit not only member countries but also the wider Global South.
