Hubballi: The government has launched the Prajaseva Department to ensure quicker resolution of public grievances and better access to welfare schemes, MLA Prasad Abbayya said on Saturday. Inaugurating the Prajaseva Andolan in Old Hubballi, Abbayya said the initiative aims to take governance to people’s doorsteps and ensure benefits reach all sections of society. He urged officials to visit households, understand people’s concerns and take proactive steps to resolve them. Highlighting the importance of social justice, he said the Constitution guarantees equal rights to every citizen and has made education and healthcare accessible to all. Efforts should be made to build an egalitarian society that enables every individual to live with dignity and self-respect, he said. Abbayya said the state govt’s five guarantee schemes were introduced to improve the lives of ordinary citizens irrespective of caste or religion. He also called for greater awareness about the Prajaseva department and urged officials to work collectively for the welfare of poor, backward and oppressed communities.
