Patna: AN College organised a certificate distribution ceremony to honour NSS volunteers and participants of the World Population Day 2026 programme. Principal Ratna Amrit attended as chief guest. Other dignitaries included Bursar Kalanath Mishra, Abhishek Dutta, Varun of the Hindi department, and NSS programme officers Naveen Kumar and Amrita Chakraborty.Amrit praised the volunteers for spreading awareness on family planning, prevention of child marriage and adolescent health. She urged them to continue participating in social service and community awareness activities.CISCE chess championship at International SchoolYoung chess players from six CISCE zones across Bihar and Jharkhand participated in the two-day CISCE Bihar-Jharkhand Regional Chess Championship 2026 hosted by International School, Patna. Winners from six categories qualified for the national championship.Darsh Gaurav (Little Flower School, Jamshedpur) and Vaibhavi Vaani (Don Bosco Academy, Patna) won the Under-14 boys’ and girls’ titles respectively. Praneet Sinha (North Point Children School, Muzaffarpur) and Pragya Bhardwaj (J H Tarapore School, Jamshedpur) emerged winners in the Under-17 categories. Prakhar Chaurasia (St. Teressa School, Bhagalpur) and Saraa Jain (Carmel Junior College, Jamshedpur) won the Under-19 boys’ and girls’ titles.The winners received medals and certificates and will represent the region at the national championship.Workshop for parents at NDAThe Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of Notre Dame Academy organised a workshop for parents of Class XI students, attended by more than 450 parents. The session was led by noted educationist and former Science College principal Atul Aditya Pandey.Pandey said a child’s success should not be measured only by academic or career achievements. He stressed the importance of emotional well-being, family bonding, communication and social values. He urged parents to understand their children’s aspirations, spend quality time with them and support their interests instead of imposing career choices.He also highlighted emotional intelligence, language skills, discipline, curiosity and responsible use of technology, while explaining the flexibility offered under the National Education Policy. Principal Sr Mary Neha emphasised the importance of parent-school cooperation. The programme concluded with an interactive Q&A session and information about the school’s counselling cell.
