MU off govt scrutiny list over pending utilisation certificates

Gaya: In a major relief to MU, the govt has removed it from the list of institutions under scrutiny for failing to submit utilisation certificates for funds released towards salary, pension, arrears and NPS liabilities. The state govt through letter no. 1206 has directed the defaulting universities to submit the utilisation certificate in proper format failing which the finance department of the state govt will not release any grant in future.According to the govt order, the defaulting universities are Patna University; Patliputra University; BRABU; Jai Prakash University; B N Mandal University; TNB University and KSDSU. July 16 has been set as the deadline for the implementation of the govt order.Deputy director level officials of the higher education department have been assigned one university each for compliance of the govt order.Welcoming the steps of the higher education department, Kanhaiya Bahadur Sinha, president of FUTAB has said it should not be a one time exercise and must be made part of the universities financial work culture. MU registrar Binod Kumar Mangalam said it has been MU’s endeavour to ensure full compliance of the govt order.
