Lucknow: A 25-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death in a knife attack in Bhaluani town of Deoria district late Friday. Police have registered a named FIR against four residents.The incident took place in Ward 13 of Gandhinagar locality around 9pm when the victim, Manish alias Monu Singh, was returning home. According to the complaint filed by his brother Upendra Singh, four men—China Ansari, Ambuj Vishwakarma, Jaikishun Yadav and Nagesh Yadav—intercepted Monu near the house of Pashupatinath Gaud and attacked him repeatedly with knives.The assailants fled after the attack. Family members rushed Monu to a hospital, but doctors declared him dead.The victim’s family has alleged that the accused operate a gang on social media under the name “Team 149” and had threatened to kill the entire family if they approached the police.Meanwhile, Deoria SP suspended Bhaluani SHO Rakesh Rai, sub-inspector Jyoti and beat constable Vinay Ojha for negligence in the case.Tension escalated after the postmortem, when the victim’s family and local residents protested at the medical college over a delay in handing over the body. Later, when the body reached the village, protesters blocked the Deoria-Barhaj road for three hours, demanding an encounter of the accused and demolition of their houses.Police and senior officials reached the spot and tried to pacify the protesters. The blockade was lifted after the SP assured them of action.Barhaj Circle Officer Ranjana Sachan said an FIR had been registered against the four named accused and police teams were conducting raids to arrest them.
