Bathinda: Farm forum Kisan Mazdoor Morcha (KMM) has decided to launch protests outside the residences of seven Punjab govt ministers and the assembly speaker from Sept 14, pressing for a 12-point charter of demands that includes an immediate resolution to the state’s electricity crisis.KMM Punjab Chapter convener Sarvan Singh Pandher said that the state govt must take the demands concerning farmers and workers seriously and resolve them immediately especially to tackle electricity crisis. He added that if the govt fails to provide an appropriate resolution, a decision regarding the next course of action will be finalised on September 16.The 12-point demand list includes guaranteed govt procurement of all crops at minimum support price (MSP), complete debt waivers for farmers and workers, and addressing issues related to floods, groundwater depletion, and pollution. The forum is also demanding the withdrawal of the proposed electricity and seed bills, rejection of the India-US trade agreement, return of belongings allegedly stolen from Shambhu and Khanauri protest sites, land ownership rights for settler farmers, cancellation of cases registered during past agitations, scrapping of the land pooling policy, stricter drug control, an end to village drone mapping, and the opening of a trade corridor with Pakistan.The demonstrations will target the residences of Punjab ministers Harbhajan Singh ETO (Jandiala, Amritsar), Aman Arora (Sunam, Sangrur), Lal Chand Kataruchakk (Bhoa, Pathankot), Ravjot Singh (Hoshiarpur), Gurmeet Singh Khudian (Muktsar), Mohinder Bhagat (Jalandhar), and Hardeep Singh Mundian (Ludhiana), alongside assembly speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan at Sandhwa village in Faridkot.
