Kanpur: The Ganga’s water level in Kanpur remained above the warning mark for the fourth consecutive day on Sunday, raising concerns in low-lying areas along the riverbank.According to Flood Control, LGC, Kanpur, the water level declined marginally by around 0.01 metre over the past 24 hours and was recorded at 114.740 metres.The upstream water level at the Ganga Barrage was 114.740 metres, while the downstream level stood at 114.370 metres. The warning level is 114 metres and the danger mark 115 metres. The river’s discharge was recorded at 5,44,373 cusecs, leaving the water level just 0.26 metres below the danger mark.The flood situation in the Katri area and adjoining parts of Unnao remained grim. Residents of several villages have been forced to use boats for their daily commute. In some areas, people are relying on tractors to navigate flooded stretches, while boats are being deployed where tractors cannot operate.At Shuklaganj, the Ganga’s water level was recorded at 113.120 metres, which is 0.120 metre above the warning mark. The warning and danger levels there are 113 metres and 114 metres, respectively.
