T’puram: Two Kollam natives were arrested on Wednesday by the Neyyattinkara excise team after 4.042g of MDMA was seized from their bags during a search inside a Bengaluru-Kerala Volvo bus at Amaravila excise checkpost.The arrested were Abdul Manaf, 32, and Suneer S, 28. The arrests were made based on a tip-off received by the excise team.According to the officials, the duo runs a car rental service in Kottiyam and had travelled to Bengaluru for business-related work. They were returning to Keralam by bus when the excise team intercepted the vehicle and conducted a search.During preliminary questioning, the accused reportedly told the excise officials that they had travelled to Bengaluru in connection with their car rental business. They also reportedly stated that the seized drug had been purchased for personal use. However, officials said the exact motive behind the possession of the drug could be established only after a detailed probe.
