East Singhbhum launches ‘Abua Mitra’ chatbot for grievance redressal

Jamshedpur: In a move aimed at making grievance redressal more accessible, transparent, and citizen-centric, the East Singhbhum district administration on Tuesday launched ‘Abua Mitra’, a messaging app-based chatbot service that allows residents to register complaints from their mobile phones.Appealing to citizens to use ‘Abua Mitra’ to bring their grievances to the notice of the district administration, deputy commissioner (DC) Rajiv Ranjan said, “Citizens can initiate the complaint registration process by sending a message to the number, 8580090001. The facility can also be accessed through a QR code issued by the district administration.”Users can choose their preferred language, submit details related to their grievances and upload supporting documents, if required. Complaints received would be integrated with the district administration’s ‘Jan Sahayata’ portal (jansahayatajsr.in), he added. The system would forward the cases to the department, office, or authorities concerned based on the nature of the complaint. Authorities would monitor and track grievances through Jan Sahayata portal, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution. Citizens would receive regular updates on the status of their complaints via messages on their registered mobile numbers, the DC further explained. The initiative would reduce the need for repeated visits to govt offices to check complaint status, while improving transparency and accountability in the grievance redressal process. The service is expected to especially benefit residents of rural and remote areas, enabling them to communicate their grievances to the administration from their homes through the messaging platform.
