Main Accused On The RunGuwahati: Assam Police seized over Rs 93 lakh in cash, gold ornaments, vehicles and several banking documents and detained a woman during an early-morning raid on Monday.Acting on information about suspected cyberfraud, a joint team raided a house at No. 3 Tupamari village under Nagarbera police station around 3.30 am.The team, led by Jankishore Gogoi of the Boko-Chhaygaon co-district police, included officers from Tupamari outpost and Nagarbera police station.“The accused, identified as Sanowar Hussain, son of Robiul Hussain, was not present on the premises when police conducted the raid. However, his wife, Saheda Ahmed, was apprehended at the location,” Kamrup SSP Subhasish Barua said.The main accused is on the run and a manhunt is on to trace his whereabouts.Police searched the premises in the presence of independent witnesses and seized Rs 93,08,200 in cash, gold ornaments, a car and a motorcycle. They recovered 70 PM Ujjwala cards bearing different names, ATM cards issued by several banks and multiple passbooks.Police suspect the beneficiary cards and banking documents may have been used for fraudulent financial transactions and identity misuse.“A case has been registered under Sections 317(2), 317(4), 318(4) and 61(2) of the BNS at Nagarbera PS, and the OC has been entrusted with the investigation,” the SSP added.
