GURGAON: As many as 93,639 cases were settled at the National Lok Adalat held across Gurgaon district on Saturday, with disputes involving more than Rs 15.68 crore being resolved through mutual agreement and compromise.According to the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), around 1.47 lakh pending and pre-litigation cases were taken up during the Lok Adalat. Of these, 93,639 cases were disposed of, involving a total settlement amount of Rs 15,68,42,235.The exercise covered cases pending before various courts in Gurgaon, Sohna and Pataudi.A total of 21 benches were constituted at the district court complex to deal with different categories of cases, while one special bench each was set up at Sohna and Pataudi.DLSA secretary and chief judicial magistrate Nisha said the Lok Adalat was aimed at providing an accessible and speedy mechanism for resolving disputes through settlement.Special traffic help desks were also set up at the Tower of Justice and Vikas Sadan to facilitate disposal of traffic challans.The desks helped residents obtain details of their pending challans and get them resolved during the Lok Adalat.
