Nagpur: An IndiGo flight from Nagpur to Hyderabad had to return to the city shortly after take-off on Friday morning after the aircraft developed a technical glitch mid-air. The flight, scheduled to depart Nagpur at 8.30am, was operated by an ATR 72 aircraft (VT-IYO) and was expected to reach Hyderabad at around 10.05am. The aircraft took off as scheduled, but the pilots detected a technical issue while being airborne.According to official sources, as a precautionary measure, the pilots then decided against continuing the flight to Hyderabad and returned to Nagpur. The aircraft reportedly remained airborne for some time, making a few rounds before landing back at the Nagpur airport. Following the return to Nagpur, passengers were accommodated on another IndiGo aircraft. The alternate flight then took off for Hyderabad at around 11.15am.The exact nature of the technical issue could not be immediately ascertained, the sources said. The aircraft was taken up for further inspection after landing, as per standard safety procedures of the aviation ministry.
