Kalaburagi: Notices have been issued to 1,05,493 voters whose details were either missing from or did not match the 2002 special intensive revision (SIR) list in the draft electoral roll prepared under Special Summary Revision-2026, requiring them to appear before the electoral registration officer or assistant electoral registration officers for verification.Speaking to TOI, district election officer Ikram Shariff said notices had already been served on 59,389 voters, while 46,111 were yet to receive them.He said the draft electoral roll published on Aug 24 contains 18,49,585 voters across the district. Of these, 53,788 voters whose information could not be traced in the 2002 SIR list were categorised under ‘No Mapping’, while 51,705 voters whose details did not correspond with available records were classified as ‘anomalies’.Shariff said the verification process began on Sept 5 and Oct 12 has been fixed as the final date for hearings. Of the 59,389 voters who have already received notices, 6,179 are from Afzalpur, 5,005 from Jewargi, 1,887 from Chittapur, 3,516 from Sedam, 3,625 from Chincholi, 6,400 from Gulbarga Rural, 13,816 from Gulbarga South, 14,070 from Gulbarga North and 4,891 from Aland constituencies.To expedite inquiries and disposal of cases, the district administration has deployed 67 additional officers along with the existing nine assistant electoral registration officers, he said.Following the rationalisation of polling stations during the Special Intensive Revision, 61 new polling stations have been created and 61 booth-level officers appointed. A special voter enrolment drive will be conducted across the district on Sept 19 and 20.Eligible voters whose names are missing from the draft roll can apply for inclusion by submitting Form 6 either online or offline along with supporting documents. All applications will be verified as per electoral rules.Shariff said names of eligible applicants who submit their applications by Sept 23 will be incorporated in the final electoral roll, which is scheduled to be published on Oct 27.
