Ahmedabad: Grant-in-aid schools told to verify non-teaching staff details on CTS

Ahmedabad: The process of determining the sanctioned strength of non-teaching staff in non-govt grant-in-aid secondary and higher secondary schools for the academic year 2026-27 will now be conducted through the Child Tracking System (CTS) portal instead of the existing SAS portal.According to a circular issued by the commissioner of schools, the non-teaching staff setup will be calculated based on the total number of students enrolled in Classes IX to XII as of Aug 31 in line with education department’s resolution dated Jan 19, 2021.Schools have been directed to log in to the non-teaching staff setup module on the CTS portal and verify, update and lock details related to sanctioned posts, existing employees and any surplus or shortage of staff. The submitted information will subsequently be scrutinised by the respective district education officer (DEO) offices.Officials said proposals containing discrepancies will be rejected and returned to schools for necessary corrections before approval. To avoid future inconsistencies, schools have also been instructed to update employee-related information displayed on the CTS portal through the teacher-staff module of UDISE+.The circular clarified that institutions having only a higher secondary section are not required to submit non-teaching staff setup proposals, as existing rules do not provide for such a setup in these schools. The entire exercise, including verification at the school and district levels, must be completed by Sep 16, after which the portal will be closed. DEOs have been directed to ensure that no school proposal remains pending beyond the deadline.
